NDRRMC: Rolly death toll now at 20; number of injured climbs to 74
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Wednesday said the number of deaths due to Super Typhoon Rolly has increased to 20.
In its latest situation report, the NDRRMC also bared that the number of wounded individuals also to 74. Three people are also missing.
The said casualties came from CALABARZON, MIMAROPA and Bicol region, according to the NDRRMC.
It said a total of 532,794 families or 2,083,222 individuals were affected by Rolly in Regions II, III, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, the Bicol Rgion and the National Capital Region. Of that total number, 142,475 families or 517,172 people are being assisted in evacuation centers.
The NDRRMC also said 20 roads and six bridges are still not passable in Regions II, III, CALABARZON, Bicol and Cordillera Administrative Region.
Power outage is still a problem in 151 cities and municipalities in Region V, VIII, CALABARZON and MIMAROPA while water interruption is also being experienced in 84 cities and municipalities in Regions V and MIMAROPA.
When it comes to destruction, the NDRRMC reported that a total of P4,794,974,885 worth of damages to infrastructure was incurred in Region V.
In agriculture, a total of P1,998,663,877 worth of damages to crops, livestock, fisheries and agricultural facilities was recorded by concerned agencies.
Meanwhile, a total of P29,974,169.90 worth of assistance was extended by the government to affected families in Regions II, III, MIMAROPA, V, CAR and NCR. — RSJ, GMA News
